A note from the show
aya Ananta's The Long Quietgathers twelve new paintings made over two years — slow studies of light falling across water, rooftops and the hours between. You are warmly invited to see them first, over canapés and conversation with the artist.
Kindly reply by 6 November— one tap on RSVP below. Admission to the opening is free.
About the artist
Maya Ananta (b. 1989, Surabaya) paints from long observation — months of looking at a single stretch of coast, a rooftop, a room at a certain hour. Her canvases are quiet on purpose: she wants visitors to slow down.
Her work has been shown at biennials and galleries across Southeast Asia, and is held in private collections in Jakarta, Singapore and Melbourne. The Long Quietis her first solo exhibition in four years.
